We launched Passion Paradise Adventures with our first maiden voyage bound for Catalina Island on the 20th of November 2011. It was the proudest moment for both the company and our team who have put a lot of hard work into preparing for the day.
The team welcomed 40 guests on board ‘Paradise’, our 47ft custom-built catamaran with exotic refreshments. Our entertainment team took to the deck to perform their traditional dance routines, as we set sail for ‘Isla Catalina’, the Spanish way of saying the island’s name. Our destination ‘The Wall’, which is on the East Side of ‘Catalina Island’, and is an ideal location for both snorkeling and diving. This is where our guest explored the amazing underwater eco system for about an hour.
We then lifted the anchor and set sail around to the west side of the island passing ‘The Aquarium’, which is another one of our dive locations on offer.
As we reached our beach, which is one of the most beautiful on the island, just seeing the expression on our guest’s faces and the glow of excitement was amazing as we set anchor near the beach. ‘Bonita’, which is another of one of our custom boats that is 25ft long, was ready to ferry our guests to the beach. As we approached the beach, you could hear the small waves breaking on the shore of the white sandy beach and feel the cool breeze with a glimpse of the bar hidden in between the palm trees. Our team was ready to welcome our guests onto the beach with refreshments and cocktails prepared by our barman.
Guests spent time exploring the beach, swimming and snorkeling in the clear blue waters, enjoying cocktails prepared at the bar and relaxing on their sun beds catching a ray of sunshine on a cool breeze.
Our renowned chef was in the kitchen preparing the Dominican lunch comprising of fresh lobster caught that morning, pork and chicken all prepared on an open fire and a range of other dishes and fruits carefully selected for the day. As guest lined up to help themselves, our chef placed lobster, chicken and pork onto their plates. I must say that the mood was tranquil. As guests finished up their lunch, our entertainment team took to the dance floor with their selected routines to entertain our guests. The entertainment team really worked hard to put on a great show for our guests and I was very proud of them.
Guests spent the remainder of the afternoon relaxing on the beach and enjoying cocktails, while swing on the swings at the bar looking over the clear blue waters through the palm trees. Later that afternoon we had to leave paradise and set sail back to the marina. Guests enjoyed refreshments on the boat and listened to relaxing music on their final stage of their adventure.
I had a few moments to reflect on the day’s events and I was very pleased with how things went. Everyone seem to have had an unforgettable adventure, which is what we set out to achieve through ‘Passion Paradise Adventures’.
Here are a few photos of ‘Paradise’ and ‘Bonita’ being launched.
